Parapluie 2002 36” x 36” Acrylic Artist’s private collection Artist’s Statement: My role as father calls me to spiritual leadership. It’s my walk with God that equips me to ask for God’s specific covering of my family. My sinfulness puts a pinhole in the covering. Allows sin a home in my home. As I confessed my sin, things that I had harbored instead of casting out, God revealed my role in putting up the umbrella of spiritual covering over my family. I have an authority as father to allow God to patch those pinholes through my confession. The patches reflect two areas I needed to confess. I am waiting for God to reveal still more.

a. come, thou fount 2002 36” x 36” Acylic and India ink b. come, thou fount 2002 36” x 36” Acrylic and India ink Artist’s private collection Artist’s Statement: From Robert Robinson’s 18th century hymn, I saw the graciousness of God. How He pours out goodness on those that follow and trust on Him. I saw the Fount flowing from a pump head – lush and profuse, never stopping. My wife saw His goodness as a wilder gush – so good it can’t be contained. She’s a spew-er. I’ m a flow-er. Either ‘tis grand. I’m a. She’s b.

i will repay you 2004 Triptych of 12" x 12" Acrylic and china marker Shown courtesy of private collector Artist’s Statement: God is good. He is the great restorer. When I fritter away His goodness, He restores in his perfect time. In His season, He pours goodness out. In my hardest place, I latched hold of Joel 2:25. I was struck by the glimpse of good ahead in the way the phrase was written. It starts with good, reminding me of the rough place I have been through -- and may still be in. It's a verse of hope. In this painting, I juxtaposed a barren field -- with just stubble left -- to the hope of new grass sprouting -- blown in my the breath of God. Joel 2:21-25 21 Be not afraid, O land; be glad and rejoice. Surely the LORD has done great things. 22 Be not afraid, O wild animals, for the open pastures are becoming green. The trees are bearing their fruit; the fig tree and the vine yield their riches. 23 Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. [5] He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. 24 The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. 25 "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten."
